How do you fix the shifter on the Loose Subaru legacy wagon Manual 96 yrs?
I have a 1996 Subaru Legacy Wagon Manual Shifter I was very loose and I had fix it. Not only because it is difficult to shift but I'm learning standards and is very difficult with the shifter loose. Any help would be very appreciated. My shifter is loose in there a lot play when in gear as if neutral.
What do you mean by "loose"? That there are a lot of dirty water in the action and sometimes grinds or stick when to change gear? You may need adjustment clutch, or you may have worn or damaged ring synchronization in your shifting mechanism, which I think is very possible.
