Convert now one wire alternator wire to 3 sets?
I have a '79 Corvette had recently purchased, has a chrome alternator 100A connect only through one wire (BAT terminal on the alternator) to the battery (in the rear passenger compartment). I want to use the sense voltage wire "connected to a the central point of distribution, and field exciter "wire" connected to the ignition switch. I feel "normal" 3 wire alternator hook emerges is a more solutions well when you run applications that require high currents such as audio, electric fan, MSD / HEI spark in addition to charging, lights, wipers etc. I do not feel the battery was filled with good. My question is: During the alt. (Appears to be-Delco Remey "like" 10SI) has two terminals on the edge of the back of the case (contacts of the regulator internal voltage .... currently covered by a black rubber cover / plug) marked 1 & 2 .... I can use this as a sense voltage cable (2 long?) And the power of 12 v. in the field of ignition switch (first term ???). Thanx! Ray
I can not see why you can not. The internal is the same, and when you declare alternator will work much better. Some people think a system cleaner wire but no better.
